Matthew

While I'm not exactly a recent convert to Linux, I finally ditched XP for Ubuntu in late November 2007. Prior to this I had file servers running Linux and have played around with XP and Ubuntu dual booting on my pc for a few years.

I have been a computer nerd since 1980 and I'm told its a terminal condition. I'm not sure if I have console, konsole or some other strain, but its definitely not DOS.

My first computer was some strange Japanese thing that never really did anything followed by an Atari 800, a ZXSpectrum?, an 88XT, and an Amiga 500. I also played with my brothers ZX81? which required copious amounts of bluetac and masking tape to hold the external 16kb ram in place and steady. I have fond memories of tuning a crappy old tape recorder while the Sinclair computers attempted to load the programs. You really needed an ear for it.

I ran a bulletin board for a few years called Salvador Dali BBS. A few Dunluggers were users and they too ran bulletin boards. The internet killed it around 1996?

I'm a big fan of FOSS and carry every useful (Windows) program known to Man in my pocket. One of my missions in life is to rescue Windows users from virii, bad software, and teenagers.
